SUMMARY OF THE ICC-GULF OF GUINEA-YAOUNDE QUARTERLY Q3 REPORT Number of incidents recorded (Piracy and robbery) : 17 Kidnapping: 04 Hijacking: 01 Fired upon: 01 Attempted boarding: 04 Boarding: 02 Robbery: 01 Suspicious approach: 02 Stowaways: 01 Irregular activity: 01 Reported but non-confirmed incidents: 03 ECOWAS: 15 ECCAS: 02 SAR OPERATIONS : 05 ( 04 in Guinea and 01 in Cameroon) The number of incidents has decreased compared to Q1 (34 incidents) and Q2(27 incidents) . Out of 12 weeks during the third quarter, no incident was reported during 7 weeks (02 weeks during Q1 et 01 Week during Q2) ICC has recorded 31 hostages compared to 40 during Q2. These 31 hostages were taken during 05 incidents whereas in the second quarter the 40 hostages were taken during 10 incidents. Only on the 02 and 17 July 2020 , 22 hostages were taken ( 09 onboard FPSO SENDJE BERGE and 13 onboard TANKER CURACAO TRADER). Only 02 crew members remain in captivity from cargo Water PHOENIX. The hostages taken onboard RIO MITONG and DJIBLOHO were released on the 06 October 2020 in Nigeria after 150 days of captivity and 02 from AP 703 were released on 17 October 2020.
